Our business has been providing custom framing for 30 years! We are also proud to showcase work by local artists. Join us as Judie Howard celebrates her three decades as owner of The Nature of Art, the business she started as The Gallows on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary on February 1, 1980. Several cooks will demonstrate their culinary skills in a birthday cake contest and percussionist Andrew Munger will perform to celebrate the landmark event. Free.

The shabby chic look of classic, Americana frames in this collection takes its inspiration from the colorful kerchiefs cowboys made popular in the Old West. Colors are Rooster Red, Blacksmith, Faded Jeans, Tobacco Brown, and Straw.

Valentine earrings & bookmarks by Jeannette Barringer, pottery by Lynne Fischer and Eun Young Leem, sun floor cloth and snowman floor cloth and a sled with an angel by Alice Rogers.

Classes • Preregistration required

  • Card Making Class, Saturday, Feb 13 & March 6 from 1 to 3pm. $20 each class, includes supplies. Create four beautiful hand-made cards of your own using different types of stamps, inks, papers, and embellishments.
  • Chinese Brush Painting, Saturdays, Feb 20 & March 20 from 1:15 to 3pm. Each class focuses on a different subject. $30 per class.
  • Water Soluble Oil Painting, Mondays, Feb 22, March 8 & 22 at 1pm (1 1/2 hour instruction and 1 1/2 hour free paint). Take one class or more, $50 each includes most materials. Instructor Rocky Alexander.
  • Basic Canework in Polymer Clay Class, Saturday, Feb 27 from 1-4pm. $40,with artist Ginnie Parrish.
  • Watercolor Batik Painting, Tuesday, March 9 from 10am to 12. $30 + $5 materials fee.
  • Hydrangea Floorcloth, Saturday, March 13 from 10am to 1pm. $30 + $25 materials fee.
